Drug Addiction and Alcoholism

Drug Addiction  and Alcoholism is not just a one person problem. Drug Addiction and Alcoholism causes Pain in Families and effects everyone. When any individual is addicted to drugs or alcohol the effects are far reaching for the family and friends. The story below is just one example of thousands of people effected every day by the Pain and Suffering of Families involved with Drug Addiction and Alcoholism.

I have a son-in-law who is married to my daughter for 7 years and they have been together for 10 years . They have 2 beautiful kids a son 8 and a daughter 4 and he had a problem with drugs that she helped him with when they first met and his only thing he continued with is smoking pot. all of a sudden he changed when his brother and sister-in-law split up and he moved closer to them. he started staying away from home, they live with my husband and I so they could save money and that never happened . As of December 2003 he moved out and told his mother his wife threw him out so she would take him in, which was far from the truth, and my daughter told her so too. they have a good relationship and she now sees for herself that he is into doing cocaine and alcohol and does not care what it is doing to his family. My daughter and him see each other so its not like they are totally separated but she has tried everything to show him what he's doing to the kids as well as her and is finally had all she can take and has given him an ultimatum and if he chooses not to be with them then she will cut him out of there lives for good and her mother-in-law agrees with her because she does not do any form of drugs herself nor does she smoke and she feels she can't stand by and watch him destroy himself. We really think he would refuse any help because of his brother and friends that all have the same addiction and he won't give in because it would make him less of a man in there eyes. He is only 28 and he is a follower and that too is bad. I don't know what will happen but at least I feel somewhat better having told my story
