The Life Of An
Addict |

|
We begin our life so
innocent and sweet,
Growing day by day and learning to speak.
Parents taught us good things to
do,
I don't think one of them was to pick up and use.
It has destroyed the baby mommy
that once had,
It's powerful force has stripped us from dad.
We struggle we fight we say
"No More",
But that demon must thrive on our pain galore.
Family is shaken by our action as
well,
But we don't notice we have put them through hell.
We eventually reach the end of our
rope,
We have finally been beaten by our best friend dope.
By a power greater than anyone
known,
We find the strength to pick up the phone.
We then call a place full of love
and hope,
It's fellowship living where we
learn to cope.
After so long if the correct Steps are sought,
We now know happiness that cannot
be bought.
