Recovery & Relapse over and over

Butterfly

"Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are
dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I
say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows." --
Michael Landon

BUTTERFLY

I was alone in a world full of fear.

Backed into a corner with death drawing near.

Hopeless and confused lost in my world.

God was calling me out of death.

I picked up the text and hope was revived.

I thought ‘this is me?’ Could I really survive?

Just for Today is what ya’ll told me to do.

“Take it easy” you said “We’ll help you get through.”

God reached my heart through your caring ways.

Your love and hugs have kept me coming back for days.

As when a caterpillar is wrapped in its cocoon,

and a transformation is taking place inside,

a beautiful change is taking place in my heart.

I am that caterpillar growing and changing.

Then, when the time is right-it emerges as a beautiful butterfly!

Like that butterfly coming out of its cocoon,

I am free to fly, to love, and to experience life with arms open wide!

For I am alive!!

It’s happening for me and it can happen for you!

Listen closely and I’ll share the how with you.

We do recover, so,

Just For Today-

Keep Coming Back!

More will be revealed.

Step, after step, after step…

You are loved and never alone.

Never again. Never, never, ever, ever!

Believe That!

Debra H, a grateful recovering addict
