Recovery Stories

Recovery Stories from Drug Addiction and Alcoholism at the NA AA Recovery Zone

Th
is section contains Addiction and Recovery Stories and other items sent to me by other recovering addicts.
Personal Recovery Stories are an excellent aid to recovery and Personal Recovery Stories help Recovering Addicts and Alcoholics to realize their Strengths, Hopes and Fears.

Personal Recovery Stories are also a great tool to further your recovery. When we start writing our stories and personal experiences out on paper we are able to to analyze our thoughts and actions more carefully and because of this we can begin to see our character defects as well as our positive strengths and make changes. Simply put Personal Recovery Stories are a great method of improving our recovery by self enlightenment.

Positive stories on how recovery has changed your life and what recovery means to you are also a great way to help the newcomers learn what the winners are doing and the changes they are making in their personal lives to conquer  their addiction problems and win the battle in recovery. Remember we learn by example, hence the saying "Fake it, Till you Make it."

Recovery can be a life long struggle and the the road to Recovery is a constantly changing path that is not always easy and sometimes relapse is a definite reality in Recovery. Stories about Relapse can be a very valuable tool and may help others avoid some of the pitfalls that many of us had to go through. Remember, "It is not where we have been that counts, but where we are going." We need to hear all of these stories both good and bad as this is how we all learn about this wonderful journey called recovery.

I NEED MORE STORIES!
I really would like to see more stories here at the NA AA Recovery Zone dealing with these issues and at the time of this writing I have only 22 stories published after being online for about three years! This website gets between 40,000 to 80,000 hits a day and it amazes me that this is all of the response that I have gotten so far.  Furthermore we all need to remember this, "We Can't Keep What we Have Without Giving it Away!" What are we all waiting for?

Have you ever been to an NA Meeting or NA Meeting and while you are all trying to share certain people always seem to have to make an open talk at your table? Quite frankly I would like have some of these long winded individuals sending in all of their personal theories and explanations on how recovery works and how they apply recovery into their personal lives. It is said that there is a place and a time for everything, This is the place, and any time is a good time at the NA AA Recovery Zone to send in your stories. If you are sponsoring a newcomer or an old timer give them an assignment and have them start writing... Bottom line, writing is good for recovery.

All stories sent in will be published in an anonymous fashion, simply sign the story with whatever you want, first name, last initial, or simply anonymous. I do not keep any records at the NA AA Recovery Zone and the sole purpose of the whole site is the concept of sharing what works.

If you have been thinking of writing an Addiction or Alcoholism Story, and you would like to share your Personal Recovery Story fire up that word processor and start processing!

Thanks
Nick M.
