The Selfridge Air show will take place
on
Saturday and Sunday the 21 and 22 of May, 2005.
The Selfridge Air Show is a Macomb County spectator event that
shouldn't be missed by anyone that lives in Macomb County. The
2003 Selfridge Air Show was my first experience at an Air Show
and I have to admit that I was impressed by the speed and skill
that these pilots exhibited.
This year the Selfridge Air Show is going to be held on
Selfridge Air National Guard Base and will commemorate our
Vietnam Veterans during its next Air Show and Open House on 21
and 22 May, 2005.
This years events
This year the Selfridge Air Show will feature the world
renowned Blue Angels, F-4D Phantom Jet, Julie Clark performs
stunts with the Mopar T-34, Jim LeRoy’s Bull-Dog Acrobatics,
Greg Shelton Wing-Walking Performance, Sean D. Tucker in the
ORACLE CHALLENGER, F-104 Rick Svetkoff Starfighter Performance, F-100 "Super Sabre",
AC-47 Gunship, a
Russian MiG-17F, and much much more.
If you have never been to an Air
Show and you live in Michigan my recommendation is that you
visit the next Selfridge Air Show to see these pilots performing
many different acrobatic maneuvers and stunts. Many of the
stunts performed were absolutely breath taking and defied common
logic as planes flew in formation wing tip to wing tip and
sometimes flew directly at each other with only a few feet to
spare.
Watching these pilots perform made me proud to be an American
as they handled their planes with the utmost skill in many hair
raising stunts. On more one than occasion throughout
the show I thought to myself that I was glad that these planes
were on my side and not coming after me as an enemy and it all
made me proud to be an American living in a free country.
