The Dunderburg is rumored to have red paint still in the eye of the
alligator after all of these years. This photograph was taken about 1995
and shows that the paint was still there. Whether it or not it is still
there is unknown to me since I haven't been back since about 1997.
Both sides of the bow sprit has chains running from the
tip back to the ship that hang down gracefully framing the alligator. You
can see one chain in the background and the edge of the other in the lower
left corner of this photo. |
