Typical PNG family
 | This photo was taken several miles off the coast of
Papua New Guinea on an remote island paradise called Savu Savu. The islanders here were
extremely friendly. The locals here have had very little contact with western
civilization and these two girls became very frightened. When they saw me you would think
they just saw a ghost. |

| I believe that these children were not used to
seeing light skinned Americans and didn't know what to make of me. I took this trip around
1996 and at that time only about 1000 tourist's a year visited all of Papua New Guinea. As
you can see the mother and I thought this was pretty funny. When I left the kids finally
calmed down and went back to their peaceful life. |
